Putting the song in a commercial would greatly cheapen the song and it's message, which is loved by millions of people around the world.
This song has become my mantra. As a single person, I can relate to the lyrics, "When the time comes to settle down, who's to blame if you're not around." I give it five stars because drums, bass, etc. all sound really good! I did notice when I isolated the harmonica track that there is a bad bleed over of music. But I'm not going to be using that so it's okay.

In my opinion it’s about a guy who is probably in his mid thirties. A wife, a couple of kids and a well paying but unsatisfying job. When he was younger he had great dreams and aspirations and thought he would be great, powerful, achieve something, only to find that is life has turned out to be ordinary. I interpret it as the personal struggle Roger was feeling with the pressure of being an elite rock musician versus the responsibility of being a husband and father. The vocals, and emotion of Roger's vocals combined with the clarinet, and keyboards really strike a chord-a great song! In an interview with a Danish tv network, Roger cited the need to be a regular father as the reason he decided to leave the band in 1983.
Especially with words that can be interpret as a person being loved by many who dont really him, and enjoyed the crowd's praises. Outside of that arena he has to deal with the realities of home life and his harshest critics. Too long being in one place doing the same thing for years makes one wonder if you could have been someone other than yourself - a much better you. Really don't like this song or the entire album. They did much better in previous albums.
Music has always been in my soul, head and heart. I used to compose songs while walking to school. I took piano and sax lessons as a kid and then picked up guitar as a teenager and more recently found an affinity with the harmonica. Fall Out Boy's "The Kids Aren't Alright" song title is not a reference to The Offspring's 1998 single of the same name. It actually alludes to The Who's 1979 rockumentary film called The Kids Are Alright. Has anybody ever considered the possibilty that the song is about the effects of living life on a stage?
The second verse, joke of the neighborhood, is about not knowing who you are or pretending to be someone else, disregarding your own feelings. The third verse, but there are times, is about almost realizing that we do not live our life in the right way. We don’t give ourselves enough credit and self love. We do not currently have the separated mixes for all of our instrumental tracks, and unfortunately the audio multi-track conversion is long and complex. I also have played harmonica and alto sax in a band called Scott Taylor &The Fond Farewells. Makes me think of something that is so sad that you can't put it into words.
